CHICAGO: A 30-year-black man who resided in free Section 8 housing in Bedford Park, Illinois has died after being shot New Year’s Day while sitting in his vehicle on Chicago's South Side, authorities said.
Myron Brown, of the 7300 block of West 71st Street in Bridgeview, was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m. Saturday at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Brown was shot about 1:30 p.m. Jan. 1 while sitting in a vehicle in the 8700 block of South Honore Street in the Greshman neighborhood, Chicago Police Department News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
An unknown shooter approached the driver's side of his vehicle and fired shots, striking Brown multiple times, Greer said.
No suspects are in custody in the shooting.

"WASHINGTON — A congressman from New York has once again quietly introduced a resolution that would allow President Obama, or any president, to serve an unlimited number of terms.
U.S. Rep. Jose Serrano, D-NY, introduced House Joint Resolution 15 on Friday.
It “proposes an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms any individual may serve as President.”
The resolution would still have to be assigned to a congressional committee, which would have to consider it before going to the House or Senate.
The resolution has a “0 percent change of passing committee or ever being enacted or passed,” a report said.
To give you an idea, only 15 percent of House joint resolutions make it past committee, with 10 percent being passed or enacted."
