At least two recent robberies of cab drivers by a group of young women seem to be connected, police warned today in a business alert.
Twice this month a group of six to seven young woman has hailed a cab downtown and gotten a ride to a South Side location.
There, one of the attackers chokes the driver with a cord or rope while another uses a knife to demand money, police said. After the robberies the women flee on foot.
The similar attacks have taken place on the 4700 block of South King Drive and the 4800 block of South Forrestville Avenue.
Detailed descriptions of the women were not released but they were believed to be 16-20 years old.
